Unifi: Optimize (BT) Torrent Download - Part1
Slow internet connection? Just 2 months ago, I have been subscribed to Unifi VIP5. Of course we all know the reason to upgrade to a better and faster internet connection - The Pirate Bay! If you are new to the wonderful pirate bay or just thought of Captain Hook or The Treasure Island, try click The Pirate Bay to check it out or the about here!
You probably noticed that you are being REGULATED by TM from accessing The Pirate Bay, when you read "Server not found" in Firefox or "The page cannot be displayed" in IE. If you would like to know why your internet is being blocked, you may check it out here: Pirate Bay, MegaUpload & Others Blocked By Government Order.
Part 1: How To Change UniFi Router Primary and Secondary DNS Address
OK. Without further ado, let's start the Mac Gyver's job. The first thing to do is to change the Unifi Router (TMnet DIR-615 G1) primary and secondary DNS address.
Step 1: Type "192.168.0.1" into your browser and hit enter. This will lead you to the router's config page.
Step 2: You are being asked to key in the Username and Password. There are some preset combination of it, you may try a few from here: http://unifi.athena.my/router_security.php
Step 3: Now you see the Internet Setup in the SETUP menu page. Click the Manual Internet Connection Setup button.
Step 4: In the PPPoE setting page, you will find the primary and secondary DNS address empty, type in the Google Public DNS.
Primary: 8.8.8.8
Secondary: 8.8.4.4
Step 5: Click Save and visit the The Pirate Bay now!
Tips: I believe you have got your torrent download software ready, but if you don't have one or you are asking for my recommendation, try utorrent.
